HEY EVERYONE…
Hope you haven’t missed me or anything. It has been a while since my last email. Anyway…here are few new things we have going on. All of which I think you will enjoy. Be sure to read the entire email as there may be prizes given to someone during the holiday season who can answer the questions correctly and quickly….stay tuned in.
The
Downtown Farmer’s Market is STILL OPEN. In
fact they will be open all year weather permitting. We have great home grown
produce and the growers’ are planting more now. Several of our local restaurants
are participating and are offering canned items, baked goods and the crafters
are out there as well. Come down this week end. I am sending you this link in
case you haven’t seen the video on the Downtown Web Site. They also are on
Facebook. So check it out and we will see you there Saturday!

CRAWL IN THE FALL….
This week-end some of the restaurants and pubs will be introducing a new event call Fall Crawl. Yes it is similar to the Pub Crawl but in the Fall. Cute new cups and live music or big screens with football in most all of the venues. Weather is going to be good and I don’t think you will want to miss this one. See the attached flyer for information on the participating locations. Fall Crawl Flyer
First
Thursdays! Guess What? We are going to
bring back Thursday night shopping in the District! I am so excited about this.
Remember when we could actually shop in Downtown on Thursday nights?
Anyway….some of our retailers are going to get this started again. So on the
First Thursday of each month beginning with October 7th you can come
down and experience Downtown flavor with shopping, restaurants and music on the
sidewalks. Don’t be bashful…come on. In fact today I was out on the street and
so many people were out walking in Downtown it was way cool.
That’s all for now, but here is some additional good info to share with folks. We have about 40% fewer empty buildings than we did 5 years ago. What does that mean? More businesses, more residential and more activity in Downtown Fort Smith. Thanks to all of you for thinking positive and having the faith that this could be done. We are far from finished but have made great progress. KEEP IT UP FORT SMITH!

Thanks again everyone…I am going to try to get this out more often!
